Here’s something I came across and wanted to share:
In a book coming out soon called Transformational Church: Creating a New Scorecard for Congregations [Thom S. Rainer (Author), Ed Stetzer (Author)]
The book caught my attention because of the word “scorecard”, which I really dislike when it comes to ministry. Scorecard? Really? But, the neat thing about the book is the dialog about these three goals for the people of God in mission:
-
* More people following Christ
-
* More believers growing in their faith
-
* More churches making an impact on their communities
Well put. Those are three goals I want to explore more. They’re different than the traditional, often heard goal of “so many more in worship” (which isn’t a bad goal really, but can miss the point if it doesn’t travel toward the three above).
